Our next Second Thursday Session will be on August 9th at 10:30 AM at the library.
Anne Mostad-Jensen, a reference librarian at Thormodsgard Law Library at the University of North Dakota School of Law, will come to our library to talk about a recently added collection to their library and what the UND Law Library can do for our library and our patrons.
This past spring, their library was very fortunate to have received a Library Vision 2020 grant from the ND State Library. They used this grant to create a collection of self-help legal books on topics such as divorce and bankruptcy, with the idea that libraries across the state will be able to make these books available to their patrons through Inter Library Loan. Their goal for this project is to help make legal information more accessible and usable to citizens across the state. The collection is nearly complete, and they are now looking into ways that they can help make other librarians and citizens across the state aware of it. This visit to our library is one of those ways. She will also present a short program on basic legal research. It should be an interesting presentation.
