We have added several non-fiction adult titles to the shelves this week. One of them, “The Secret Lives of Color” by Kassia St. Clair, tells the unusual stories of seventy-five fascinating shades, dyes, and hues. From blonde to ginger, the brown that changed the way battles were fought to the white that protected against the plague, Picasso’s blue period to the charcoal on the cave walls at Lascaux, acid yellow to kelly green, and from scarlet women to imperial purple, these surprising stories run like a bright thread throughout history. – Amazon. Sounds like an interesting read.
Other non-fiction titles are “Stamped: racism, antiracism, and you” by Jason Reynolds; “Fourteen talks by age Fourteen: the essential conversations you need to have with your kids before they start high school – and how best to have them” by Michelle Icard; “Assume Nothing: a story of Intimate Violence” by Tanya Selvaratnam; and “The Babysitter: my summers with a serial killer” by Liza Rodman.
