The last regular story hour of the school year will be Friday May 27 from 10:15 – 11:15 am. If you have children five years of age or younger, they are welcome to attend. Children 3 or under must be attended by an adult.
Students from Ely Elementary have been touring the the library this week and tours will continue next week. It’s been great having them in our library again!
The summer reading theme is “Oceans of Possibilities!” The dates for elementary Summer Reading program are Friday June 3, 10, 17, 24 and Friday July 8. Each session is from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. This is for students who have finished Kindergarten through 6th grade. Sessions will include activities based on the theme. Participants will track their reading over the summer and be eligible to win prizes. The grand prize is a new bike! To sign up, call the Library at 776-6223 or stop by. We will also have a table at the Summer Activity sign up days at the armory on Tuesday May 24 and Wednesday May 25.
We will have Summer Story hours for ages 5 years and under! Remember, children 3 or under must be attended by an adult. Summer Story hour will also follow the “Oceans of Possibilities” theme with stories, singing, games, and crafts! Sessions are Friday June 10, Friday June 24, Friday July 8, Friday July 22, and Friday August 5, from 10:00 AM until 11:15 AM. Please call the Library ahead of time to let us know if your children will be attending so we can plan accordingly. North Dakota State Park passes available at the library for checkout!
These are provided by the North Dakota State Library and the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department. Each pass provides daily vehicle access to any state park. They may be checked out for one week at a time and they are renewable, unless they have been reserved.
There will be an information session for the website with the digitized issues of the Pierce County Tribune on Wednesday, June 8 at 2:00 pm at the Library. This website was possible because of the Local History Grant from the ND State Library awarded in November 2021. You will learn how to search the newspapers and other helpful tips on navigating the website.
Learn more about the history of transportation in North Dakota from ND State Library’s Kit Keeper program, up through June 25. It includes a panel telling about the history of transportation in North Dakota. It also includes books on transportation history in the state and a few travel books on North Dakota. Take a look for some road trip ideas within our great state!
