Library News, September 22, 2023

Good Morning Rugby! Your Heart of America Library has been busy the past couple of weeks. Thank you for visiting us and using our services. We couldn’t do this without your continued support.

We’ve offered Story Hour every Friday since September 1 and it has been an absolute blast! We enjoy seeing the pre-school age kiddos excited about coming to the library to read books and do activities with the Rugby Public Schools Literacy Committee and HOA Library staff. Bring your child!

Thank you everyone who participated in the Wine Walk on Thursday, September 21. We enjoyed seeing everyone who came out to have fun and support local businesses. We especially enjoyed the comments we heard such as ‘I haven’t been here since I was in grade school at Ely‘, and ‘Wow, this is a nice library!‘. We invite you to stop by again soon. Your library has so many services to offer.

October is Health Literacy Month. The ever changing landscape of healthcare and health insurance is hard to navigate. HOA Library has invited ND Navigators and Senior Medicare Patrol to come on Thursday, October 12 at 1:30 p.m. so they can present Health Insurance 101 and answer your insurance related questions. They can answer general insurance, Medicaid and Medicaid Expansion, and Medicare questions. Please join us for this informative presentation.

Caregiving is an incredibly important role, and unfortunately it’s often stressful. Who do our Caregivers go to for support? Where do they get their care? Who can they ask for help? We’ve all known someone who has been a Caregiver and on Thursday, October 19 at 1 p.m. we’ve invited AARP to come and share information on resources available to Caregivers. If you or someone you know could benefit from this presentation, please share.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
