Your Heart of America Library hosted Health Insurance 101 with ND Navigators and Senior Medicare Patrol. There was a lot of great information shared and important questions asked. We hope those who came got the answers they were looking for and found the resources they needed to make a good decision for their health insurance needs.

We hosted a Caregiver Support presentation from AARP yesterday. This presentation was a nice stepping stone into a Caregiver Support Group we will begin hosting at HOA Library the third (3rd) Thursday of each month starting Thursday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. We will share experiences on the journey of caring for a loved one in a safe, confidential environment. We’ll invite speakers to share important information about resources available. We’ll help each other navigate the murky waters of caregiving. We’ll support and care for the person doing the caring.

Story Hour is so much fun! We are so happy to see our youngsters excited about coming to the library for stories, crafts, activities, and so much more. They are making friends and making memories. Thank you for bringing your children. We meet every Friday from 10:15 – 11:15.

Heart of America Library is currently taking donations for the Rugby Food Pantry. We have a shopping cart set up by the door to collect your non-perishable food items. Did you know that if you make a donation it will pay off your library fines if you have them? Please consider donating to our Food for Fines promotion and help out our local food pantry.

We’re pleased to announce that Kathy Brandt from Heart of America Medical Center will be here on Wednesday, November 15 at 1:30 p.m. to share a presentation on Diabetes Prevention and Management. According to healthdata.org over half a billion people are living with diabetes world wide and 96% of them have type 2. Please join us to learn some ways to prevent diabetes and maybe some new ideas for managing your diabetes.

Thank you for your support; we look forward to helping you. If you have ideas for programs you want to see or host at the library, please let us know. If you have a book you want to read, please let us know and we can order it in for the library and you can be the first to read it.
