Happy Spring! Heart of America Library is ready to shake off winter and enjoy the sunshine of spring. We have several activities planned for April and we hope you’ll join us for one or all of them.

We’ll have a Used Book Sale all month during April. New books added all month. Stop by everyday!

We are happy to have author Kevin Lovegreen here on April 3. Kevin will have Reading Frenzy Assemblies for our elementary students from Ely and Little Flower. He will also have an Adult Lunch and Learn event from 11:30 – 12:45.

The United States is experiencing a total eclipse on April 8. Rugby will experience about a 50% eclipse and to get ready for this we are offering a Take Your Child to the Library Total Eclipse Event on April 6 from 10-2. Kids will have an opportunity to make a cereal box eclipse viewer, a UV person, eclipse chalk art, a pocket solar system. Join Miss Robin on Saturday, April 6!

April 7 – 13 is National Library Week! Help us out by celebrating Right to Read Day April 8. Or National Library Worker’s Day on April 9. And National Library Outreach Day on April 10. Or Take Action for Libraries on April 11. Heart of America Library appreciates the support of our communities and patrons. Don’t forget our coloring contest, too. Win a free book! Thank you!

Heart of America Library is participating in the Smokey Bear Reading Challenge now to November 28, 2024. Stop by and pick up your participation kit!

We are pleased to share that we will host Sarah Vogel on Tuesday, July 16 at 1pm as part of the ND State Library Great Reads from Great Places Tour. Ms. Vogel is an author and former ND Agriculture Commissioner. She’ll be here to share and discuss her book The Farmer’s Lawyer. We’ll also have Main Street Boutique here selling her book for autographs. We look forward to having Ms. Vogel here

We’re gearing up for Summer Reading Challenges, too! Reading for a Wristband with the Pierce County Fair and Rugby Jaycees. Adventure Awaits at Your Library summer reading program. We All Read for Ice Cream with Baldy’s Pizza. So many opportunities to read.
