Library News September 9, 2022

September is library card sign up month!  Since 1987, it has been held to mark the beginning of the school year to encourage kids to sign up for library cards.  We encourage everyone to stop in and sign up for a library card.  Although we don’t have physical library cards that we give out, you need to be in our computer system to borrow from the library. All you need to do is fill out a card with your name and address.  If you are a resident of Pierce County, it is free!  If you live outside of Pierce County, it is $5.00 per year.  Books can be checked out for one month.  We have children’s books, young adult books, Westerns, Christian Fiction, a Large Print section and books on CD.  Magazines and dvds can be checked out for one week.  Items can be renewed.  You can also access our online collection through the Libby app, on your phone or device. If we do not have the book you want, it is possible to borrow through interlibrary loan.

The Heart of America Library is thankful for the following memorials received in August:

The Village Arts Summer art program, taught by Julia Petrovic, is currently on display at the library. This student art show featuring work from grades one through 12 will be up through the end of September.

There will be a book sale in conjunction with the city wide rummage sales.  It will start Friday, September 23, and also on Saturday September 24, and will continue all the next week through Saturday October 1 during regular library hours.

The next Library Board of Trustees meeting is Monday, September 12 at 9:00 AM at the library.

A representative from North Dakota Job Service will be at the library next Wednesday, September 14 from 10 am to 2 pm.
