December is here and the Mitten Tree is up for the 38 year! Donations of new or gently used winter hats or gloves for the Mitten Tree will be given to schools, who then distribute the items to children in need. The tree already has many wonderful donations! Thank you to all that have given so far!

If you are not sure what to read next, NoveList is a great tool. NoveList is an online library resource or database for readers advisory. Users can enter a book or author to find readalikes, reviews, and more. NoveList contains information on genre, storyline, pace, tone, and the writing style of every book in its listings. You can also browse by various appeal categories such as “cartoony illustration, “diverse ability characters,” or “sobering tone” to help select your next read. It can be used for all ages and reading levels. So if you are not sure what to read next, NoveList is a great tool. It is available through the library website, under electronic resources. You can use it at the library but if you want to use it at home, you will need a barcode # and password that the library can provide.
Goodreads is a social media site that helps people find and share books they love. On Goodreads, you can
- See what books your friends are reading.
- Track the books you’re reading, have read, and want to read.
- Check out your personalized book recommendations.
- Find out if a book is a good fit for you from the community’s reviews.
Goodreads is an app you can download. If either of these tools interests you, but you are not sure how to get started, contact Jackie at the library.
