Spring cleaning is upon us. Time to open those freshly washed windows and let in the spring air; shampoo the carpets and wipe out the cupboards. Empty those over-filled closets and donate the items no longer used by anyone in your house.
Or, if you’d rather avoid spring cleaning, you can get out your library book and read. Either way, enjoy this beautiful weather we’re having in North Dakota.
Speaking of nice weather, did you know that the Heart of America Library has a library loan program available for daily park passes to North Dakota State Parks? These daily passes may be checked out by library card holders 18 and older at NO CHARGE from the Heart of America Library. It’s a daily vehicle pass to any ND State Park (camping is extra). It is good for seven (7) days. There is a limit to one per household (we do share with everyone). Contact the circulation desk for availability. This is another great way to avoid spring cleaning, by the way.
Your spring adventure is waiting at Heart of America Library!
We have a new magazine coming this year called Northern Gardener. It is a great publication from the Minnesota State Horticultural Society sharing information related to gardening in our northern climate. Magazines can be checked out for one week, if you’re looking for one more way to avoid that spring cleaning project. You can get your garden planned and started instead.
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the book sale. We utilize those monies to purchase updated material for your library. If you have any suggested books you’d like to see available here, please let us know.
We will not be accepting donated or used books at this time. Our plan is to complete our process for weeding out books that have not been checked out within the past six (6) years and then move on to doing a full inventory of the books we do own in our collection. The library does not have an abundance of storage space available to keep books that are not in our collection. The books we do store tend to get incredibly dusty from non-use. This is not a good environment for breathing, but is a great environment for germs to live.
Upcoming story hour will be Friday, May 19 from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. All children 5 and under are welcome to attend, but we do ask that children 3 and under be accompanied by an adult. Thank you to all the wonderful people who make story hour a reality.
