Library News May 3, 2023

May is a month for new opportunities, new experiences, NEW BOOKS! Reading a new book will make your mind blossom with new ideas; it will take you on a new adventure. Your Heart of America Library has several new books that can take you places; check one out today!

Speaking of adventures, we have a few here at the Heart of America Library for you to enjoy. Check out Con Pollo: A Bilingual Playtime Adventure by Jimmy Fallon to enjoy with your little one (easy fiction). A brief description reads, “an engaging and hilarious picture book that serves young readers as an introduction to basic Spanish vocabulary, brought to life by superstar team-up Jimmy Fallon and Jennifer Lopez.”

Or for your older reader (junior fiction) maybe The Abduction by Gordon Korman; a brief description reads, “Aiden Falconer and FBI Agent Harris close in on Aiden’s sister’s kidnappers. The only problem is Meg’s attempts to free herself mean she’s never where she’s supposed to be.”

And an adventure for mom or dad (adult fiction) to read might be My Travels with Mrs. Kennedy by Clint Hill. A brief description reads, “Sparked by long-forgotten gifts and memorabilia discovered in an old trunk, the now ninety-year-old Hill reminisces about private moments, shared laughs, and crazy adventures with one of the world’s most iconic women during her time as First Lady and the excruciating year following the assassination of her husband. After all, he notes that “when you travel with someone…you experience things that can’t be fully appreciated by anyone who wasn’t there”.”

Your spring adventure is waiting at Heart of America Library!
